The first Global Harmony events take place in Beijing during the Olympic Games in August 2008, with a series of Divas in Beijing concerts featuring Renee Fleming, Angela Gheorghiu and Sumi Jo, with special guests including the ‘next generation Three Tenors’ - Marcello Giordani, Salvatore Licitra and Ramon Vargas - plus baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky and tenor Jonas Kaufmann.
The Divas in Beijing concerts have been recognized as the major official Beijing Cultural Events of the 2008 Olympics, and the dates, timing and venues have been carefully selected to create a world-class cultural experience that seamlessly complements the Olympic sports events and their scheduling.
